MemberDash Membership Types

MemberDash offers four different Membership Types. You will see the following options during the onboarding wizard, or when creating a new Membership at MemberDash > Memberships / Add New:

  1. Standard
  2. Dripped Content
  3. Guest
  4. Default

Standard Membership

A Standard Membership is a Membership that can be free, or require:

  • Recurring payments
  • Single payment
    • One-time payment for permanent access
    • One-time payment for infinite access
    • One-time payment for date-limited access.

This is the Membership type most commonly used.

Dripped Content

A Dripped Content Membership allows you to release content to your users at set intervals you determine. This is especially advantageous when using a Recurring payment, as only subscribed users can access new content.

Guest Membership

You can only create one Guest Membership – and that’s all you’ll need! Any content protected as Guest Membership content will show to all site visitors who are not logged in. Special offers to join your other Memberships, preview content, etc. can all be shown to non-logged in visitors just by assigning the Guest Membership Protection Rule.

Default Membership

Just like a Guest Membership, you only get one Default Membership – and it’s a great option! Once you assign the Default Membership Protection Rule to specific content, it will show to site users who are logged in, but haven’t yet purchased any paid Memberships.

If you’re using LearnDash, GiveWP, or any other plugin that creates WordPress site users, then a Default Membership allows you to target them, specifically, without displaying that content to users who have already purchased a Paid Membership.
