Getting Started with MemberDash

Installing/Activating MemberDash

  1. In your site Dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New
  2. Click Upload Plugin
  3. Select the MemberDash plugin and click Install Now

Once this is done, you’ll see a blue Activate Plugin button – click that and you’re ready to go!

(Need to purchase MemberDash? Do that right here.)

Creating your first Membership

As soon as you’ve finished installing and activating MemberDash you will be presented with a Get Started button. Click that to get started setting up your very first Membership.

If you’ve already navigated away from that page, don’t worry – on the left-hand side of your WordPress Dashboard, hover your mouse over MemberDash and click on Set Up.

There are four different types of Memberships that you can create:

  1. Standard Membership
    • This allows you to make content that is available to Members, and hidden to site visitors or site users without a Membership
  2. Dripped Content Membership
    • Set up Membership content to be released / made available in intervals
  3. Guest Membership
    • Make content available only to guests (logged-out users)
  4. Default Membership
    • Make content available to all logged-in users that have not yet registered for a Membership

Create a Membership

  1. Select a Membership type
  2. Name the Membership*
  3. Check the box Allow users to register for this membership if you wish to allow anyone to register
  4. Check the box This is a paid membership if you wish to charge for the Membership

If you choose to make this a Paid Membership, you will then be automatically taken to the Payment screen.

Payment Screen

The Payment screen has two columns.

Global Payment Settings apply to every MemberDash transaction on your site, and can be updated at any time.

Beneath Global Payment Settings you will see Payment Gateways

Follow the on-screen instructions to add your information, or view the tutorials here for more information.

In the Payment Settings column, you will see configureable options for your Membership. The illustration shows a Membership that costs $149.99, renewing monthly.

Underneath those options, you can choose to enable a Trial for the Membership. You can enable or disable Trial Memberships at any time.

*Important: Choose your Membership name carefully, as it can not be changed once someone has subscribed to it

MemberDash Blocks

In MemberDash 1.1.0, we introduced MemberDash Blocks. Installations of MemberDash prior to this update used the Classic Editor with shortcodes, rather than the Gutenberg block editor.

Changing from one to the other is simple! After updating to 1.1.0, do the following on any Membership page you wish to convert:

  • Edit the page
  • Delete the shortcode you wish to replace with a block
  • Click to add a new block
  • Browse all blocks, and search for the MemberDash block you wish to use
  • Add that block to the page

Repeat these steps on all or any MemberDash pages, and that will add Gutenberg flexibility to MemberDash!
