LearnDash has had quite a year. Our LearnDash 4.0 release (plus its subsequent updates) brought much-requested enhancements and improvements to the plugin.

Not to mention – there’s a whole new way to do LearnDash now, with the release of LearnDash Cloud.

Creating online courses with WordPress is now simpler than ever with LearnDash’s new onboarding and course creation tools. Plus, we’ve raised the bar with new and improved engagement features that keep LearnDash as the best LMS solution for WordPress.

Let’s look back at our year in LearnDash.

New Features in 2022

Onboarding Wizard. The LearnDash Onboarding Wizard makes it quicker than ever to start with LearnDash. The wizard takes care of all the essential setup and even downloads all the necessary plugins you select for your convenience.

Course Creation Wizard. The course creation wizard spins up a course from a video playlist in less than a minute. Paste the URL from your YouTube playlist, Vimeo showcase, or Wistia Project. LearnDash will automatically populate an entire course from the playlist, with each video creating a new lesson in the course.

Challenge Exams. Learning paths allow users to take challenge exams to test their knowledge on a subject first. This saves them from completing coursework they’re already familiar with. Learners who pass a challenge exam can skip to new content and complete your course faster.

Bulk Editing. Change the Access Mode, Autostart, Video Controls Display, and Video Resume for multiple courses and lessons at once. Gone are the days of going into each lesson individually and making tedious manual edits.

Course Cloning. Ever build a LearnDash course and wish you could duplicate that course to create a new one? Now you can easily start building new courses by cloning an existing course and updating the content. You can also clone your existing lessons, topics, and quizzes with one button click.

Drip Content for all Post Types.  Dripping your course content allows you to control the pace at which course content is released. With the latest update, not only can you drip lessons, but you can also drip content on topics and quizzes, too. You can release content immediately, at a specific date, or on a certain date after enrollment.

Stripe Connect. Our newest update introduced a quick way to connect to Stripe to start selling your courses. Stripe Connect is built into LearnDash’s core and doesn’t require any additional add-ons. Set up an account and start accepting payments right away.

Razorpay Payment Gateway: Razorpay is a popular payment solution in India for accepting, processing, and disbursing payments. With our latest update, you can accept payments with Razorpay for your LearnDash courses without needing WooCommerce first.

LearnDash Cloud

This year, we made a huge new release with LearnDash Cloud. LearnDash Cloud is a fully hosted WordPress website that comes with LearnDash pre-installed.

A monthly or annual subscription includes hosting and website automatic updates, alongside the full functionality of LearnDash. We’ve even included ProPanel for enhanced reporting to monitor enrollment and student progress.

LearnDash Cloud paves a streamlined path to WordPress site ownership and puts the WordPress ecosystem and plugin repository within reach for more people than ever.

Looking Ahead

Next year, we’re focused on making WordPress courses easier to manage while bringing new features and enhancements. Our goal remains to offer the best-in-class course-building platform for anyone who wants to build a course and share their knowledge. We’re proud to continue improving LearnDash by taking full advantage of the entire WordPress ecosystem and its flexibility. Stay tuned for more great developments in 2023.
