Don’t Launch Your Course to Crickets

wordpress-for-elearningMany people who create an online course to sell never sell a single one.

It’s not because the course is bad.

No, it’s because no one can find it!

What you must remember is that creating your elearning course is an important step in building your business, but so is getting the word out.

The internet is an easy place to get lost. You need to attract attention somehow.

Choose a Shortcut and You’ll be Sunk

In order to sell courses you need visibility – plain and simple.

There are correct ways to do this and then there are shortcuts. These shortcuts are touted as ways to “game” Google into getting your site visibility in searches.

Sure, it’s possible that they may work in the short-term (most don’t), but it won’t take long before Google penalizes you for cheating and you can kiss all your hard work goodbye.

There are ethical ways to go about SEO and online marketing. Sure, they don’t seem as “flashy” but they are proven to work.

One of the easiest ways to generate interest in your course is to start with content marketing.

We live in an age where content is king. It allows you to pre-sell your course by building trust.

If you need to learn about content marketing then there are plenty of credible resources out there for you to leverage.

If you do decide to go this route then you should start right now so that when you decide to launch your course you already have an audience, and therefore potential customers.

It sure beats releasing your course to the sound of crickets 🙂 .
