In the world of SEO there is one name that almost everyone knows and trusts: Yoast.

The Yoast SEO WordPress plugin is one of the most popular WordPress solutions today. Millions of websites trust in it for search engine optimization. Granted, the plugin is only the tool. You still need to educate yourself on SEO best practices so that you can use the tool effectively.

That is where the Yoast Academy comes into play.

Recently I had the opportunity to speak with the man behind the academy, Jesse van de Hulsbeek. In the video above he discusses the reasoning behind their academy and the principles they used when creating their courses.

Whether you are just starting out creating courses or already have some that are live, you will likely learn something from Jesse. He is clearly someone with a great deal of knowledge in this space.

Free courses at the Yoast SEO Academy give you a solid foundation.

SEO can be tricky. As Google makes updates and evolves their ranking algorithm the best practices of SEO also change. Yoast has always been on top of this shifting landscape, ensuring that their plugin contains the necessary feature-set for you to use on your websites.

But they have taken it one step further and also teach you how to get the most out of SEO and their plugin.

One course is particularly useful: SEO for Beginners.

My personal opinion is that this course is worth taking whether you consider yourself a beginner or not. The complexity of SEO means that there is a lot to keep track of so it is quite possible that you may have forgotten a strategy or two. This course is a great “refresher” for the latest and greatest in SEO and will give you the opportunity to audit your own website’s SEO presence & strategy.

If you want to learn more advanced topics then Yoast has you covered with the other offerings in their catalog. You can learn more about copywriting, technical SEO configuration, and even multilingual SEO (because we all know that the internet is used in languages other than English)! 🙂

If you want to learn more about SEO from the biggest name in SEO, head on over to the Yoast Academy.
