Tips for Marketing Your Online Courses
If you plan on selling your online course then you need to think about how you are going to market it.
Many people get so caught up into creating their courses and setting up their website that they forget entirely about marketing. Even worse is that they do think about marketing but underestimate what is needed prior to launch.
Your strategy for marketing is almost as important as your course itself. If you make it an afterthought than you won’t be selling much of anything.
When we started LearnDash, we put 10 solid months of content marketing prior to our launch. To this day it was still one of the best things we did for our business.
Here’s the thing: you don’t need to be a marketing genius to build awareness about your course. There are plenty of resources out there for you to learn the basics. Trust me, you don’t need to know anything beyond the basics as you start.
What are Some Good Resources?
You could search all day long and find many hundreds of bloggers, products, and companies offering advice (sometimes for a price). If I were to recommend one place to start then it would be Digital Marketer.
Their own approach to marketing isn’t to everyone’s taste, but their blog is a goldmine for ideas. Just start there. No need to buy into their products (unless you want to of course).
