March 8th, 2017 LearnDash Tips

Over the years we have seen that LearnDash has a variety of use-cases.

Some use it to sell courses while others leverage it for higher education. Then there are companies that take advantage of our features for creating robust employee and client training.

Infusionsoft is one such example.

If you aren’t familiar with Infusionsoft, they are a Fortune 500 company that (for the most part) invented the “marketing automation” industry. Their software is very powerful. But with power comes a learning curve. They needed a way to teach new customers how to use their software.

I recently had the opportunity to sit down (okay, “call in” is probably more accurate) with Heath Smythe from Infusionsoft and Micah Mitchell from Memberium (a popular WordPress-Infusionsoft connecting plugin).

Heath was repsonsible for implementing the training program at Infusionsoft and during this call he gives us a “behind the scenes” look at how he has set-up two of these training programs. One of which is for employees at Infusionsoft and the other is for their new customers.

In addition to this case study I also spend a few minutes discussing the two major trends in the e-learning space today:

  • Mobile Learning/Micro-Content
  • Freedom of Choice

I demonstrate why these trends exist, what to expect in the coming years in terms of e-learning design, and how you can take advantage of these trends today with LearnDash functionality!

To see all of this and more head on over to the webinar replay.

Great video. I currently am using Learndash, imember360, and infusionsoft for a membership site. I saw a few things in the video that I would love to be able to do with my site, but I don’t know how they accomplished it.

1. The “Completed” text in the the title of the course when the course is completed.
2. The “checkmark” on top of the image when the course is completed.

I would love to know how that was done (I have an idea of how I would do it if I “had to” make this work, but it would be pretty messy).

Is this “feature” anything that we might see coming to the standard version of LearnDash?

Hi Jacob-

Thanks for the comment. Infusionsoft did do a little custom work on their own site to implement some of the features you saw, but nothing too major. We’ll be holding a Q&A session on March 16th. I’d recommend submitting your questions via the form on the replay page.

With regards to adding this kind of thing into LearnDash, it’s possible. Recently we added the course progress bar to the course grid. Will include the ‘checkmark’ to our idea list.

I have a question. They mention that there was a platform that they were using in the past that did not work for them. They never mentioned the name (which I get). Is there any way I could get that name as I don’t want to make the same mistake (and if they had the reason why, that would help too).

The reason I ask is that we are looking into going from a self-hosted system to a hosted solution and I would love to know what the problem was with their experience. Please email if you can’t post that information here. Thanks a ton. Love your product and I recommend it to everyone that needs to sell courses.
