Creating an online course is pretty simple today.

There are dozens of platforms that you can use to sell your content in a structured format. Whether you use a hosted platform or something flexible like WordPress & LearnDash, the technical aspect of setting up an online course is no longer a mystery.

But just because you have an online course doesn’t mean that it is a good course.

Content aside, there are certain aspects of a course that set it up for success. Gone are the days where you can simply copy & paste material from a workbook into an online format. The modern learner expects more, and if your course doesn’t deliver then it can do more damage than good.

Completion rates are the name of the game when it comes to online courses. Successful courses have higher completion rates, simple as that. Think about it: if your courses teaches something valuable (and does this well), and you have a high completion rate, then that means:

  • Learners will tell others about the course (word-of-mouth marketing)
  • Learners will be more likely to purchase another course from you (increased revenue)
  • Learners will value you and your expertise (industry recognition)

The benefits are compounding. For example, increased industry recognition could mean more speaking opportunities, which in turn can lead to high-ticket consulting engagements.

All from having a successful online course.

Join me on May 4th at 2PM EST as I discuss three important aspects to include in your online course to ensure that it is successful. These three instructional design principles can be used on any platform you choose for delivering your online course.

Hope to see you there!
