New Amazon Chime for Online Meetings

One question we often receive from people who are looking into using LearnDash as their LMS is if there is the ability to faciltiate online instruction or meetings.

For live webinars and conferencing any platform that integrates with WordPress can be used in conjunction with LearnDash. Popular platforms include GoToMeeting, Skype, AnyMeeting, BigBlueButton, and GoogleHangouts. There is also a direct integration with WizIQ.

And of course dpending on how you intend to use this functionality, our Zapier integration may be an option to connect LearnDash activities to platforms like GoToMeeting.

The point is that the flexibility of WordPress means that LearnDash isn’t going to lock you into a specific online meeting or collaboration provider. There are so many great options out there, and now there is an exciting new market entrant: Amazon Chime.

Any time I see Amazon make technical moves I always pay attention. When it comes to infrastructure they are second to none in my opinion.

One of the things I hate most about online meetings is that the qualty of the audio and video never seems to be reliable. I think we’ve learned to put up with it over the years. If there is a firm with the “technical chops” to help resolve that issue I feel like it will be Amazon.

I have yet to try out Amazon Chime so please do not consider this a review or an endorsement. It’s merely a “public service announcement” that there is a new (big) player in the online meeting space that you may want to investigate for your own needs.

I would paste the Amazon Chime video in this post but they don’t allow it (?) so you’ll need to head over to their announcement post to read and see more.
