Education technology has certainly grown over the past century, to the point where the technology itself is becoming more than just a medium of knowledge exchange. While this infographic from Rasmussen College provides nice little tidbits of information, I couldn’t help but notice the glaring gap between the 1930s and 1996. Really? Nothing noteworthy in the Ed-tech realm during this 66yr span??

I think this infographic can be built out a bit more, particularly when you consider the advancements being made with modern learning technologies. It would also be interesting to see more of the historic context in this field, similar to the Evolution of the Learning Management System diagram. Nonetheless, one thing that is apparent in this image is that educational technology has really advanced in the past two decades, in both complexity and accessibility.
