LearnDash Version 1.1.0 (1)It has been about one month since we released version 1.0 of the LearnDash WordPress LMS plugin, and we’re excited to say that we have taken the next big step in our commitment to building, and supporting, the best modern learning management system available. We built this round of major enhancements based on your feedback, so thank you for all the thoughtful suggestions over the past four weeks!

As was mentioned in the preview, one of the most noticeable changes to the core functionality of LearnDash is the ability for you to determine if you want linear progression through your lessons. Should you choose to, you can require your users to take the lessons in your course(s) in sequential order, providing you more control over the learning experience. If they try to jump over lessons, they will be prompted to return. What’s more, you can set-up checkpoints within the lessons and require that your users receive a passing score before moving onto the next lesson.

Individuals taking your course can visually track their progress with the status bar widget. As each lesson is marked complete, the bar fills up just a little more. If there is a final exam, then the bar will not completely fill-up until it has been taken. They can also reference their profile to see how far along they have progressed in their registered course(s)!  The user profiles also update with the number of steps they have completed in the courses.  We also color coded the quiz results (green pass/red fail).  Hopefully your users see lots of green!

This are just a few of the major updates we put forth in this round. We also did some “not so sexy” updates, cleaning up the bugs and quirks that you graciously informed us about. While we are still working towards perfection, these updates will take care of the more annoying blips.  You can view version 1.1.0 in action at the demo site.  We have also included an overview video detailing some of the core functionality.

Oh, and one more thing…

We Launched The LearnDash Library!

We also should take a moment to echo an announcement that we made earlier this week.  If you haven’t seen yet, we have now launched the official LearnDash library!  This library includes extensions you can use with your LMS, better yet, they are 100% FREE! We will be adding to this list over time.  If you’re a developer with an interested in the learning industry, then contact us today – we’d love to include your extension into the LearnDash Library!
