Course Access Manager

The “LearnDash Plus” integration has been re-branded as Course Access Manager. The functionality is still the same, only the name has changed.

With the end of the year quickly approaching, we have been working to close out some loose ends with LearnDash, and add a couple of useful features. At the same time, we are planning the new functionality for the beginning of 2014.

We are excited about what’s to come, and we want to thank you for your continued support and dedication to LearnDash’s development.

That said, although we are busy with our last update of the year, we wanted to give you access to a nifty little tool that will give you some more options with your WordPress LMS.

About The Integration

Some of you may have seen reference to this in the forums, and others may even have been part of the beta program. Today we are happy to give you access to the latest integration for LearnDash, Course Access Manager.

What It Is

In a sentence, this integration allows you to create and sell simple access levels, and assign them to one or more courses.  You can also protect other (non-LearnDash) pages on your site.

Course Access Manager is installed in addition to LearnDash. Once installed, you will notice a new menu item in your Administration panel titled “Course Access Manager”.

What It Is Not

Course Access Manager is not a replacement for robust membership plugins.

Instead, it is meant to provide you some additional basic membership-like features in conjunction with the core LearnDash plugin. If you are in need of more advanced membership features and reporting, then you should use the PaidMembershipsPro integration.

Of course, using Course Access Manager is completely optional as the core LearnDash plugin provides organic course protection, but read-on for a list of added functionality it can provide you!

The Features

The core features of Course Access Manager are simple, yet can provide you with tremendous leverage for your learning management system. Some of the more prominent features include:

  • Create free and paid access levels
  • Sell levels with built-in PayPal functionality
  • Protect both LearnDash related items and regular posts/pages
  • Use shortcodes to place the “JOIN” button or Purchase button anywhere on your site
  • Charge a one-time fee or on a recurring basis
  • Sell your access levels using the JigoShop integration
  • Auto-upgrade users to different access levels after a certain number of days

In the end, we want to provide you with as many options as possible with your learning management system. If you just need some basic membership capabilities, Course Access Manager is a great way to get up-and-running quickly.

You can download Course Access Manager from the support site.

What’s Next?

Presently, we are working to clean-up a few items in LearnDash so that we can hit the ground running in 2014. You can expect at least one-more core plugin update from us before the end of the year.

As always, we want to thank you again for choosing LearnDash. We appreciate your faith in our offering, and we promise to continue enhancing it with regular updates and integrations.

Until next time!
