5 Reasons to Like Responsive ELearning

No more than 10 years ago it was more than enough to create an elearning program using a popular elearning development tool and then deliver it to a large number of employees. Just like live-training was always done in a classroom, elearning was always administered on a computer.

Well, fast-forward to today and the landscape has changed quite a bit.

Computers are just one of the many tools that people use to access training (likely to be the least used tool at some point). Today, smartphones and tablets are being leveraged to access elearning more conveniently than from a laptop.

While new technology is great for the end-user, it also has forced instructional designers to think about their training from multiple perspectives. In most cases, the learning modules cannot just be applicable for a computer, but instead have to work (and look good) on mobile devices.

This shift has impacted the industry as a whole, even resulting in the new measuring and reporting protocol of Tin-Can (Experience) API.

ELearning courses must bend and mold to the device being used. Responsiveness is key, and in fact, it is what makes elearning pretty great today. The inforgraphic below, created by LearningPool, details five reasons why responsive elearning is a great thing.

You will notice similar themes in this infographic, most of which center around accessibility (an seemingly obsession in today’s online learning environment). That said, it is this same accessibility that has been responsible for the upward trending use of elearning around the world.
